Anand Super Napier Silage & Biomass Initiative

Anand, Gujarat (120 Acres)Start: 1 May 2025Expected Harvest: 30 Apr 2026
Unit Participation Value₹50,000
Project Duration~12 Months
Cultivation Progress65%

Project Overview & Scope

Operating across 120 prime arable acres in Anand—the dairy capital of India—this initiative addresses Gujarat's severe summer green fodder deficit. Leveraging the high-protein Pakchong-1 Super Napier hybrid, the project harvests continuous 45-day cuttings over a 5-year perennial lifecycle. Biomass is precision-chopped to 15mm in the field and vacuum-packed into 100kg airtight bales within 2 hours of harvest. Inoculated with Lactobacillus plantarum, the silage undergoes rapid anaerobic fermentation, locking in 16.5% crude protein for up to 18 months.

Indicative Agronomic Projections
